OAK Raiders bt SD Chargers by 7
Original Prediction: Chargers to win by 7.
An unfortunate start to the week in terms of predictions, but this game was massively unpredictable. Phillip Rivers continues to struggle and the Raiders will be happy with the chemistry new QB Carson Palmer has with his receivers.
NO Saints bt ATL Falcons 26-23
Original Prediction: Saints to win by 3.
Evaluation: First prediction out of the gate and Rich got it spot on, helped out greatly by a stupid 4th down call by the Falcons.
TENN Titans bt CAR Panthers 30 - 3
Original Prediction: The Cam Newton Panthers to win by 6.
Evaluation: Couldn’t have been further from the truth! Tennessee walked all over the Panthers continuing the bye week curse that has ruined pretty much every team this year.
Original Prediction: Bengals to win by 7.
A close game came down to the last few drives and the rookie for Cincinnati stuttered when it mattered. Close but no cigar!
STL Rams bt CLE Browns by 1
Original Prediction: The Rams to win by 6.
A lot closer than it should have been for the Rams versus the impotent Cleveland Browns. Only won by one point, but Rich still got the winner right...
DAL Cowboys bt BUF Bills by 37
Original Prediction: Cowboys to steal the victory late and win by 3.
Buffalo have collapsed like a wet paper bag since beating Washington after their bye week, The Cowboys have done the opposite after getting stomped on by Philly. Safe bet.
JAC Jaguars bt IND Colts by 13
Original Prediction: The Jags to win by 12 in this classic
Soooo close to being spot on betting against the Indianapolis offence is easy when Mr Manning isn’t under centre and the Jags did enough to get over the finish line comfortably.
DEN Broncos bt KC Chiefs by 7
Original Prediction: Bronco’s to win by 12.
Broncos took “establishing the run” to new levels by only passing the ball 8 times the entire game. Kansas suffered through this game and just couldn’t stop boy wonder.
MIA Dolphins bt WAS Redskins by 11
Original Prediction: Dolphins to win by 14.
Sexy Rexy and Glenn Beck were never going to be the answer for Washington and Reggie Bush has found new life in Miami. Solid result for Miami and another correct prediction by Rich.
ARI Cardinals @ PHI Eagles
Original Prediction: Eagles to win by 14.
Couldn’t have been more wrong! The vaunted Eagles secondary was picked apart by John Skelton and Philly struggled with the pre game loss of DeSean Jackson and the early injury of Maclin.
HOU Texans bt TB Buccaneers by 28
Original Prediction: Texans to win by 7.
The Bucs are struggling this season and Rahim Morris has a real challenge to get his young team back on track. Texans put in a total performance and totally dominated from start to finish.
SEA Seahawks bt BAL Ravens by 5
Original Prediction: Ravens to win by 17.
Well, he got the part where the Ravens play down to the other teams level part right. Ravens offence was awful when they stopped handing the ball off to Ray Rice, which they did often. Marshawn Lynch went beast mode for the second game in a row and sealed a nice win for the ‘hawks.
CHI Bears bt DET Lions by 24
Original Prediction Bears win by 5.
Right result, but I don’t think anyone saw the Lions collapsing quite so dramatically! Stafford was very shakey and the Lions seemed to have a bad case of the bye week blues.
SF 49ers bt NY Giants by 7
Original Prediction: Giants to win by 3.
San Francisco are showing signs of being a Superbowl contender with a solid defence, a good rushing offence and a capable passing offence led by the once beleaguered Alex Smith. Giants are still top of the NFC East and need to re-find their form to hold off the surging Cowboys.
NE Patriots bt NY Jets by 21
Original Prediction: Patriots to win by 6.
I also expected a much closer game, but the Jets failed to take full advantage of a Pats defence so weak two of the players didn’t even have intro videos on CBS. The Pats were able to keep Brady upright and he took advantage picking them apart. Revis was even called for defensive holding for once...
GB Packers bt MIN Vikings by 38
Original Prediction: Green Bay to win by 7
I think Rich went conservative with this prediction because of the division rivalry. Aaron Rodgers continued to absolutely murder opposing secondaries and the rookie led Vikings offence never really got started.
